1. Information We Collect
This is a static informational website. We do not operate user accounts, membership systems, or e-commerce. The only information this site may collect is:
- Server log data: Standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring page, and pages visited. This data is not linked to personal identities and is retained only as long as required by the hosting provider's standard log rotation policy.
- Contact form submissions: If you use the contact form on the About page, the information you enter (name, email, phone, message) is processed client-side only. No data is transmitted to a server or stored in any database. The form is provided for usability demonstration purposes.
2. Cookies
This site uses a single first-party cookie stored via localStorage to remember your cookie consent preference. No tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies are set.
If you click "Reject" on the cookie banner, your preference is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key cookie-consent with the value rejected. This entry does not expire automatically. You can clear it at any time through your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data.
3. Third-Party Content
Images on this site are loaded directly from Wikimedia Commons servers (upload.wikimedia.org). When your browser loads these images, Wikimedia's servers will record the request, which may include your IP address, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy.
External links on this site point to government agencies and recognized conservation organizations. We have no control over those sites and their privacy practices.
This site does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
4. Fonts
This site loads the Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces from Google Fonts. This results in a request to Google's servers, which may collect your IP address as part of serving the font files. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
5. Your Rights
Under Canadian private sector privacy law (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, provincial equivalents such as Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to request access to personal information held about you. As this site collects minimal data and the contact form does not transmit data to any server, there is effectively no personal information to request or delete beyond what may exist in hosting provider server logs.
For questions about data practices, use the contact form on the About page.
6. Changes to This Policy
This privacy policy may be updated periodically. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
